Seller Guide
Everything you need to know before you list your first item — pricing, payouts, and how to get a good rating from day one.
Listing an item
Go to Sell an item and fill in the title, category, condition, description and photos. You'll enter two prices:
- Market price — what the item typically sells for. Be honest here; buyers can tell.
- Asking price — what you're actually charging. BOOM calculates the savings badge buyers see automatically from the gap between the two.
Listing is free — there's no charge to publish, only a commission when an item actually sells.
Optional: clearance countdown
If you want to move stock fast, set a countdown when you list. Once it hits zero, the listing locks automatically at whatever price it was — no last-minute renegotiating, and buyers can see the clock ticking, which tends to push a decision.
Getting paid
- A buyer pays into BOOM — you're notified immediately that funds are secured.
- You hand over or dispatch the item.
- Once the buyer confirms receipt (or after 3 days if they don't act), BOOM pays your bank account, minus a 7% commission.
Payouts are made once your available balance reaches at least ₦1,000.
Shop accounts
Registering as a shop (rather than an individual) is meant for traders selling regularly. Shop accounts may need a one-time approval from BOOM before their first listing goes live — a quick check to keep the marketplace trustworthy for buyers.
Building your rating
Every completed sale can earn a buyer review, and your public score is visible on every listing you post. Accurate descriptions, honest condition ratings, and prompt dispatch are what turn a first-time buyer into a repeat one.
