1. What we collect
- Account details — name, email, phone, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), state/city.
- Listing & order activity — items you list or buy, prices, order status, reviews.
- Payout details — bank account name and number for sellers, encrypted at rest.
- Device info — for push notifications on the mobile apps, and basic technical logs (IP address, browser) for security and fraud prevention.
2. Why we collect it
To operate the marketplace: creating and matching listings, processing payments and payouts, sending order and alert notifications, calculating seller ratings, and preventing fraud or abuse.
3. Who we share it with
- Payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave) — to process payments and payouts. They receive only what's needed to complete a transaction.
- Email provider — to send account, order and listing-alert emails.
- Other users — your name, rating, review count and city are visible on your public seller profile. Your phone/email are never shown to other users directly.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
4. How long we keep it
Account and order data is kept for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for tax, dispute and fraud-prevention records. You can request deletion of your account; some order records may be retained where required by law.
5. Your rights
You can view and update most of your account details directly from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, contact us through the contact page.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Bank account numbers are encrypted at rest. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment processors — BOOM never sees or stores your full card number.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
