Buyer Protection
Your money doesn't reach the seller the moment you pay — it reaches BOOM, and stays with us until you say the item arrived as described.
How your payment is protected
- You pay BOOM, not the seller. The seller sees your payment is secured, but cannot access the funds yet.
- You get the item first. Collect it or have it dispatched, and check it against the listing.
- You confirm — or you don't. Tap "Confirm receipt" and the seller is paid. If something's wrong, open a dispute instead.
- Auto-release after 3 days. If you don't confirm and don't dispute, the sale completes automatically after 3 days so sellers aren't left waiting indefinitely on a buyer who's gone quiet.
If something's wrong with the item
Open a dispute before confirming receipt — once you confirm, the sale is treated as completed. A dispute pauses the payout and puts the order in front of the BOOM team, who review the listing, the item as received, and both sides' account of what happened before deciding on a refund or release.
What's covered
- The item never arrives.
- The item is materially different from what the listing described (wrong item, not functional as claimed, missing what was promised).
- A seller who was rated, active and verified at the time of purchase turns out to have misrepresented the listing.
What's not covered
- Minor cosmetic differences already disclosed in the listing's condition rating (e.g. "fair" or "for parts").
- Change of mind after you've already confirmed receipt.
- Damage that happens after you've confirmed the item was received in good condition.
Every seller is rated
Seller ratings and review counts are built entirely from completed orders — visible on every listing and every seller's public profile before you buy, not just after.
